Backing Big Sam

2^nd in the table, 5 points behind the leaders Southampton but 6 points clear of 7^th placed Leeds, everything is looking set for promotion for West Ham, so why are people criticising Big Sam?

This season was about one thing, promotion. Getting back into the Premier League and trying to progress as a club is everything West Ham are focussing on right now and with Big Sam we have a manager who has been there, done that, and got the medal. A manager who unlike Grant and Zola before him knows how to get promotion and win and more importantly sustain it.

I know some results at Upton Park have been disappointing, but away from home, with the fantastic travelling support we have been incredible. I firmly believe West Ham are the favourites to win the Championship but even if West Ham finish 2^nd the season hasn’t been a failure. Targets have been achieved, so we should celebrate the success and look for a bright future.

Old school West Ham fans would of course remember the brilliant football that has been seen at Upton Park over the years, but maybe a move away from the ‘West Ham Way’ is just what’s needed to kick start some life into the team. They have been failures last year, and to turn them back into winners is a tough job, so we should all be behind Big Sam and the team 100%.

In a few years, when hopefully, West Ham are established back in the Premier League, we can look to buy certain players that can play attractive attacking football, but still remain the strong core that makes up a Big Sam side meaning we can compete and move forward as a club. We have to move forward as one, so forget traditionalist views because we have a great manager and a very promising team that can achieve great things.
