West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has stated that in-demand defender Aaron Cresswell will not leave the club this summer, amid reports that he is interesting Liverpool.

The progressive left-back has been in superb form over the last 12 months and has been a key player in the London club’s rise to become top-four challengers in 2015-16.

Cresswell was born in Liverpool and the British public have linked him with a move to Anfield this summer, as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve his playing squad.

The full-back has become an essential player for the Hammers and a fans favourite, with the fact that he is not getting a look-in at international level baffling to many.

Bilic has stated that reports linking Cresswell with other clubs was natural given his excellent form but that the defender would be with West Ham next season as the team move to the Olympic Stadium.

“He’s improved a lot this season on the ball – he has become a great full-back and a complete player,” Sky Sports quote the Croat as saying.

“Of course, playing regularly and so well he’s attracted the interest of many clubs. Bigger clubs you said, but I don’t agree!

“I spoke to him; firstly he’s under contract and secondly -which is much more important nowadays – he is really happy and loves it here. He can’t wait for the new season and the hype surrounding it.

“He is very happy and going to stay with us for a long time, hopefully.”
