Surely losing arguably our best player in Declan Rice has got to be our worst fear on the transfer front ahead of the summer window?
Well, I’m sure many of us would have had our hearts in our mouths when Sky Sports broke a big transfer story on Monday afternoon, amid all the Coronavirus gossip.
Just in case you hadn’t seen, they claimed that Rice is wanted by Chelsea at the end of the season – a u-turn as you may remember we originally picked up Dec after he was released at Stamford Bridge when aged 14.
Things didn’t get better later on Monday either as ExWHUemployee took to social media to confirm the validity of the rumour, sharing that they’ve been watching him for ages and are really keen.
However, instead of going to panic suggestions, some fellow fans have been thinking constructively about what we should do if the Blues approach us.
You can see that for yourself, here…
Swap deal for Kante?

Not surprising, we can either do this 2 ways. Sell for 80m+ and reinvest every single penny into the team, or keep him for a few more seasons – we won’t be able to hold onto him forever, got to pick the right moment to sell

We will take £50m + Kante 😉

If Chelsea want him then we should insist on money and 3 players in the deal…. they give us £70m and they take Ajeti, Sanchez and Roberto from us on permanent deals. That’s fair

40m plus Kante

Sell him (if he wants to go) and use money to buy more players like Bowen that are hungry for success. Don’t want to sell, but he’s going to go at some point might as well cash in.
