Michail Antonio’s contract is fast running down and many fellow on have been debating whether he should be given a new one.

This was after the question of whether he should be awarded one before his current deal expires next summer was raised by .London’s West Ham man Sam Inkersole.

Obviously, we all love the commitment that Antonio shows for the badge on the pitch, never seeming to give up on chasing a loose end and terrorising the opposition defences in the process with his electric pace.

However, for someone who’s played mostly as a centre-forward this season, two goals in 17 appearances simply isn’t good enough and the flaws with his finishing have been clear for all to see recently.

I think the best way forward is to make sure Antonio stays at the club but maybe as a winger or impact substitute, meanwhile signing a better finisher this summer…
