Hammers fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest transfer news from ExWHUemployee regarding the future of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph, who made 42 appearances in east London between 2015 and 2017.
Ex tweeted on Monday to say that the Republic of Ireland international is on the brink of rejoining the club, two-and-a-half years since he was sold by Slaven Bilic to the Riverside.
Many West Ham fans were pleased by the update, which is no surprise given the struggles of back-up shot-stopper Roberto in the Premier League this season.
David Moyes also has David Martin at his disposal, but despite some positive performances just before Lukasz Fabianski returned, one would feel that his age and lack of top-flight experience means he can’t be trusted in the long-term, as heartbreaking as that may be.
Below, you can see the top Tweets from satisfied Irons ahead of what looks set to be the club’s first January arrival…
I’m happy, desperately needed better cover. Martin and roberto are not good e ough for me, and always liked randolph. New RB is priority now

Far, far better than Roberto, so yes. I’m not sure who people think we are able to attract as a bench warmer.

Yep. Liked him. Good character. Adrian was/is a better keeper but DR more reliable.

Yep. Not sure why we released him in the first place.

Yes, look at the keeper on the bench Sunday. It’s a very smart move

We desperately need a new back up so yeah he’s perfect and very cheap
— Chris (@ChrisConnor93) January 6, 2020
Yes. I remember him at Anfield where he kept us in the game for a 0-0.
