Loads of fans on Twitter are gutted after ExWHUemployee gave an update on the future of Winston Reid, with the beloved Kiwi set for a move stateside.
The club insider didn’t reveal any details about whether the switch is permanent or a loan, just that a deal looks likely.
You’d feel a loan wouldn’t make much sense, if Moyes wanted to keep him, he probably wouldn’t bother sending him and his experience out on loan with a relegation battle to fight.
It’s now been 696 days since Reid last appeared competitively for the club and despite returning to training in the last month or so, we still haven’t seen him on the pitch.
Perhaps in training, the 31-year-old hasn’t been able to display the correct level of fitness and it’s time for him to move to a slower footballing climate?
Nevertheless, it will be very sad to see him go after all of the happy memories, 223 appearances’ worth, and many disappointed supporters are feeling it already…
Such a shame, best of luck to him.
