Michael Owen has delivered his prediction for West Ham’s clash with Arsenal on Monday night.
Both sides lost their midweek fixtures, with the Hammers slumping to a 2-0 defeat to Wolves and the Gunners coming up short against Brighton.
And Owen foresees a draw when the two sides meet next week.
Speaking to Bet Victor, he said: “West Ham have not won at the London Stadium since mid-September while Arsenal have not won on the road in the Premier League since the opening weekend of the season.
“West Ham have won just one of their last nine in the league after their defeat at Molineux midweek, but I think they can take a point against the Gunners back at the London Stadium.”
OPINION
Ordinarily, you might expect Arsenal to edge this one, but given how shockingly both sides have been in recent times, it could go either way. It may sound facetious, but honestly this could come down to who is less bad on the night. The Gunners were abysmal against Brighton, and look like a shadow of their former selves this season. To register just 12 shots to the Seagulls’ 20 in a home game, as per the BBC, is almost unthinkable, and the Gunners have never looked more beatable than they do right now. Of course, the Hammers are hardly a paragon of stability either, and if the defeat to Wolves taught us anything it’s that they lack a cutting edge without Michail Antonio in the side. Thankfully, Sam Inkersole from Football.London expects him to be in the side, but even then, it could be a close run thing.
