West Ham United youngster Nathan Holland is set to feature against Arsenal on Monday evening, according to Football Insider.
The reputable football outlet claim on their website that the 21-year-old missed the under-23’s 3-3 draw against Fulham on Friday to hold him back for the clash against the Gunners at the London Stadium.
Football Insider report that Manuel Pellegrini wants to use the winger in training on Saturday and Sunday as he grows frustrated with the lack of killer instinct from his attacking options.
Holland made his Premier League bow against Wolves on Wednesday evening, coming on in the second half to complete 19 minutes at Molineux.
OPINION
It was a hard introduction into Premier League football for Holland in the 2-0 defeat against Wolves, with the young winger hardly touching the ball as his side were brushed aside quite easily. Having said that, it was a massive moment for the 21-year-old, who Pellegrini seemed reluctant to use for quite some time this season. This breakthrough indicates that the chance is there for him to cement his spot if he can make a similar impression on the first team as he has had on the under-23s this season. Holland had been involved in an impressive 15 goals in his 11 games for the youngsters this season, and that is the sort of form Pellegrini will be hoping he can bring into the senior side. Arsenal are the out-of-form side in the Premier League at this moment in time, and Holland could take advantage of that if given the chance for more minutes at the London Stadium, with his pace and trickery bound to cause problems for the lacklustre Gunners’ defence.
