The Cowley brothers have not been discussed as potential replacements for West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers have not won in their past seven Premier League matches, and rumours are mounting over a potential change in the dugout in the near future.
Earlier in the week, talkSPORT host Adrian Durham had suggested that Huddersfield Town boss Danny Cowley, and brother Nicky who acts as his right hand man, could be the ideal candidates to take over from the Chilean given their pedigree and their love for the Hammers, being supporters themselves.
But Ex has seemingly poured cold water over the possibility.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said: “I haven’t heard their names mentioned yet.
“The plan is to back Pellegrini for the mean time I believe.”
OPINION
Make no mistake, the Cowley brothers are a class act. The job they did at Lincoln City was nothing short of superb, and ever since taking over at Huddersfield they have slowly but surely began to drag a struggling club clear of the Championship relegation zone. That being said, bringing in a manager like Danny Cowley would always be a gamble. With no Premier League experience, and given how poorly the Hammers are performing at the moment, it would be a gargantuan task for him to undertake. That’s not to say that he couldn’t pull it off of course, and on his current trajectory he will end up in the Premier League sooner rather than later, but right now, the Irons cannot afford any risks, and as unfortunate as it may be, Cowley and his sibling would be too much of an unknown entity.
