Scully will not play v Sheffield United

|

Reliable West Ham source ExWHUemployee has ruled out the possibility of young striker Anthony Scully being given a call up to the senior squad for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old featured for the U23s in Friday evening’s 4-1 win over Norwich City, scoring the opener in a comfortable victory.

When asked if there was any chance of Scully making his first team debut in Saturday’s game against the Blades on Twitter, Ex simply replied: “Nope”.

OPINION

To be fair, it was always going to be all but impossible for Scully to play on a Friday night and then a Saturday evening, but the most important thing to take away from this is that the youngster is slowly coming to be recognised as a talent who could one day make the step up. It’s not hard to see why either . He has been in sublime form so far this campaign, and his goal on Friday was his 11th for the U23s already. He also picked up the Premier League 2’s player of the month gong for October, as per the Hammers’ and it’s getting harder and harder to ignore his credentials. If the current situation with Nathan Holland is anything to go by, Scully could have a while to wait yet, but he’s certainly going about things in the right way.
