Barcelona youngster Louie Barry has taken to Instagram to send a message to new West Ham signing Ademipo Odubeko.
The 17-year-old striker put pen to paper on a deal with the Hammers on Friday, as per the club themselves, after spending his schoolboy years with Manchester United.
Odubeko announced the news via his personal Instagram account, accompanied by a caption reading: “New chapter begins!
“Delighted to announce that I’m officially a West Ham player.
“Time to get down to business!”
Barry, who himself signed for Barcelona earlier this year from West Brom, replied: “Big things bro”.
OPINION
Realistically, Barry could be bang on the money with this one. At the end of the day, Odubeko is a player who has come right the way through the system with one of the biggest and most illustrious academies in the world, and according to the Hammers’ announcement earlier, he hit 35 goals last season. Those numbers are seriously impressive, and if he can continue on the trajectory he currently finds himself on, then there is no reason why he can’t be a really big threat for the Irons in the future. Of course, there’s a lot of work to be done if he is to break into the first team, but this should be a really positive move for the teenager, and with the right attitude he has all the potential and tools needed to become a top tier talent.
