Anderson should be fit for Sheffield United clash

|

Felipe Anderson should be fit enough to face Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, according to Claret & Hugh

A report from the reliable source claims that the Hammers are dealing with a number of injuries after several players picked up knocks in the 2-0 defeat to Everton.

It is understood that the club are seeking to keep the names of those affected under wraps, with view to treating them in the run up to this coming weekend’s meeting with the Blades.

The report does state, however, that 26-year-old Anderson is not amongst those facing a battle to be fit, despite being withdrawn at half time against the Toffees.

OPINION

This should be a relief to West Ham fans, although if we’re being perfectly honest, Anderson has hardly been at his best so far this term. The Brazilian was given the hook at half time against the Blues, and honestly, nobody can blame Manuel Pellegrini for doing so. Aside from two successful dribbles, the South American created nothing for his side, and his Whoscored rating of 6.39 is far beneath his usual standard. That inconsistency could prove costly the West Ham this season, who will need their star man to be at his best if they are to realistically challenge for a European spot for next season. It’s hard to drop a player like Anderson because he is so mercurial, but if he doesn’t pull his finger out soon, Manuel Pellegrini might have to do just that.
