Mark Noble has heaped praise on West Ham United forward Felipe Anderson after his start to the Premier League season.

The Hammers’ captain has been in awe of his Brazilian teammate so far and claimed that he is the sort of player that fans pay money to come and see.

In an interview with West Ham relayed on their official Twitter account, Noble heaped the praise on Anderson for his all-round game, including his defensive work.

“That’s why you pay the big bucks for these players,” he said.

“Everyone sees the skills and running but his work-rate off the ball, getting back and tackling, is fantastic. He’s a really special player.”

The 26-year-old has started three games in the Premier League so far this campaign and missed a single fixture through a small injury.

OPINION

Noble is right to single out Anderson who has been phenomenal since arriving since Lazio last season. The Brazilian hit the ground running instantly but his exposure to English football for a full season has seen Manuel Pellegrini reap the rewards early on in this campaign – something Noble is clearly enjoying. The 26-year-old put in his best performance yet against Norwich City last time out, and made the Canaries defence look silly at times with the ease he glided past them. All that is missing is the end product so far, and if he continues in the same type of form, goals are all but certain to follow. Anderson has it all in his game, having averaged 2.3 shots on goal per game but also completing 3.7 dribbles and a couple of key passes according to WhoScored – proving that he can not only provide goals but put himself in positions where he can score in each game. Anderson really does bring fans to the London Stadium, and his continued form will be vital to any success this season.
