Championship side West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry about the availability of West Ham United winger Grady Diangana on a loan deal, according to Football London.
The outlet claims that former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic wants to bring the 21-year-old to The Hawthorns on a temporary basis for this season.
However, the east London outfit have indicated that they would like to receive a loan fee from the Baggies for the youngster, who made 21 appearances in all competitions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side last time out [Source: Transfermarkt].
The Midlands side are happy to pay a fee for the player, and the Hammers are even willing to lower their asking price to help out their former boss.
OPINION
This seems like the perfect next step for Diangana. He broke through early on last season with a blistering Carabao Cup performance, but never quite kicked on from there. He was in and around the squad, as shown by the number of appearances he made, but he was always just on the periphery a little bit. However, he has enjoyed a terrific pre season and is clearly someone Pellegrini is keen on. With all of the attacking midfield talent at the London Stadium, now seems like the right time to send Diangana out on loan to play regular football. He’s behind Felipe Anderson, Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Michail Antonio and Robert Snodgrass in the pecking order at West Ham, and so he will only be on the fringes of the squad this term if he stays. He’d play regularly at West Brom, though, and it seems as if the Irons are keen to do their former manager a favour, here.
