Manuel Lanzini’s new contract at West Ham United includes no release clause, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football outlet claimed that co-chairman David Sullivan was in the centre of negotiations, and reached an agreement to make the Argentinian international one of the Hammers’ top-earners.

Football Insider report that despite it being common for Premier League sides to include a release clause in new contracts, West Ham have decided against it with Lanzini in his new four-year-deal.

Manuel Pellegrini has been suggested to have let it known how highly he rates Lanzini in his side, and both David Gold and Sullivan were keen to cement the 26-year-old’s future at the London Stadium.

OPINION

West Ham and Pellegrini will definitely be delighted that they have secured Lanzini for the next four years with the potential for an extra two on top of that. The Argentinian was a standout performer in pre-season for the Hammers, and the 26-year-old has definitely continued that form at the beginning of the Premier League season, much to the delight of Gold and Sullivan who will be looking for results from one of their newest top-earners. Alongside his 87.7% passing success rate so far, Lanzini has also averaged 3.3 key passes per game according to WhoScored, the most in the entire Hammers’ squad, as well as completing 2.7 dribbles – proving his danger to opposition defences. Pellegrini will now be hoping for his playmaker to add more goals to his game, after only averaging a single shot on goal per game, he must get into more dangerous positions and add goals to his passing style of playing in behind the striker.
