West Ham should try their best to bring in Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama before the end of the transfer window, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.

Spurs are understood to be open to the prospect of letting him go out on loan before the market closes at 5pm, as reported by Sky Sports (10.33), and Ex believes that the Hammers should go all out to snap him up, even if that means getting rid of Carlos Sanchez.

Speaking about the 28-year-old on his personal Twitter, Ex said: “I would really go for Wanyama if I were us.

“I would take Sanchez out and try and loan him abroad after window closes-you can do this, and get Victor in.

“We did have interest but spurs traditionally don’t like dealing with us.”

OPINION

This would be a wonderful move for West Ham if they could pull it off. In all reality, they probably won’t, but having a Champions League level midfielder in amongst their ranks would certainly bolster their squad immensely. Wanyama has struggled with injury in recent times, and managed just four Premier League starts and nine substitute appearances last season, but even in his relatively short time on the field, he impressed. A pass completion rate of 81% and an average of being dribbled past just 0.5 times per game, as per Whoscored, show that he is still the same old all action midfield battler that he always was. At 28, he still has a lot to give, and while bringing him in would surely require shipping somebody else out, in an ideal world, it would be a fantastic coup for the Irons. Don’t get your hopes up about it happening though.
