They say lightning never strikes twice, but West Ham United are living proof that it definitely does. After Dimitri Payet forced his way out of the club in 2017, many Hammers fans were happy to get a player out of the club that didn’t put the team before himself. Pass forward two years to January 2019 and Marko Arnautovic placed a transfer request at the club, after it was rejected, the Austrian signed a new deal. Now, the Premier League season is over, Arnautovic has placed another request in to leave the club, a move that has forced the London club to sell the forward. On Friday, talkSPORT confirmed on their official Twitter account that the Austrian international has passed his medical and will leave to move to China. Many West Ham fans will be jumping with joy to finally get rid of a player who, once again, clearly doesn’t want to be at the club. Arnautovic will not be amiss at the London Stadium, having only scored 10 league goals, despite being the club’s main forward. Many of the Hammers’ faithful reacted with happiness on Twitter, with one fan saying, “Taxi for Arnautovic. Good riddance.”
