Sebastien Haller’s stance on joining West Ham has “improved over recent days”, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Hammers over the week, as reported by The Guardian, but while Ex claims that a deal is still a little way off, he has suggested that the player is increasingly receptive.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said: “The fee is yet to be agreed and how that will be structured.
“The player hasn’t one hundred percent said yes although his stance has improved over recent days.
“Of course then you have medicals etc after that.”
OPINION
This sounds like a really decent bit of progress for the Hammers. No deal has been agreed yet, that seems fairly clear at this stage, but but even though there’s nothing official to go on, the fact that Haller seems to be more open to the move on a personal level should be enough to get fans excited. This is a player at the peak of his powers in terms of his age, and who hit 15 goals in Germany last season. At 6’3″ [Transfermarkt], the Frenchman is a real handful for defenders, and the fact that he averaged 6.9 aerial duels won per match shows that perfectly [Whoscored]. Crucially, however, Haller isn’t just some beanpole to boot balls up to. Of his 15 strikes last season, 13 came with his feet, and he made 1.3 key passes per game as well [Whoscored]. This is a signing to get excited about, and the latest rumblings would suggest that it could be edging closer.
