Pablo Fornals has sent Manuel Lanzini a message on Instagram after West Ham’s 1-0 victory in their pre-season friendly against Fulham on Saturday.
West Ham’s new summer signing delivered the message after the Argentinian playmaker scored the thumping winner and the only goal in Saturday’s fixture.
After Lanzini shared a photo on his personal Instagram account, Fornals commented, “Put it wherever you want,” most likely praising his teammate’s thunderous strike in the game earlier.
Lanzini struggled to make much of an impact last season, with the 26-year-old suffering injuries that limited him to 10 Premier League appearances towards the end of the last campaign.
There is no doubting the fact that Lanzini has always held the talent to make a great impact on the West Ham side when in the playmaker role which allows him to drift in the final third. The 26-year-old will be desperate to make an impact next season and has made a great start in pre-season, surely impressing manager Manuel Pellegrini before the season opener against Manchester City. Fornals’ comment definitely highlights how Lanzini can make it look easy and pick his spot wherever he wants when in and around the box – something fans will be desperate to see at the London Stadium more frequently. The 26-year-old still delivered a couple of assists and a single goal in his 10 outings last season, and will be hoping to improve that drastically should he nail down a first-team spot. Lanzini completed 1.3 dribbles on average per game and also 1.1 shots [WhoScored] showing that the playmaker is a constant threat in and around the box. Should Lanzini be fit, he should be able to show the Hammers’ faithful what Fornals has clearly been seeing in training consistently, in what will be a massive season for Lanzini.
