The transfer window can be a stressful time for all of us. With incomings and outgoings, rumours and whispers, and an all-encompassing fear that your club might start the season woefully unprepared, the summer months can be tough for football fans, and the last thing they need is to be tempted and teased, least of all by their own side. Which is why West Ham’s tweet earlier today announcing that they had signed a new deal was particularly cruel. This wasn’t a new signing they were bringing in you see, but rather a new sponsorship with holiday provider Experience Kissimmee. The Hammers will now have the Florida city as their official destination partner for the next three seasons, and it’s fair to say that supporters have taken the news in good humour. Many took to Twitter to express their delight at the news, albeit with a certain amount of sarcasm. Obviously fans would much rather have a new player to get excited about, but given how brightly the Hammers have started the transfer window, most fans will forgive a little bit of nonsense from the club. That being said, next time there’s an announcement like this, it better be a new centre forward or supporters may be a little less forgiving.
