With the season coming to end with a 4-1 victory over Watford on Sunday, West Ham will now look to the transfer window to strengthen their squad.
Hammers captain Mark Noble has already confirmed there will be people leaving the club to reportedly make more funds available for the summer to improve their squad.
Midfield will be an area of concern for Pellegrini, with reported interest in Declan Rice and Mark Noble not getting any younger, meaning they may need a couple of fresh faces in the middle of the park.
As reported by the Telegraph, Stoke City and Wales international midfielder Joe Allen is in the Hammers’ sights and as if to stoke the fire the former Liverpool man has admitted that he would have to consider a Premier League move should it arise.
Speaking to the Stoke Sentinal, the 49-cap Welsh international said: “I think the club are going to speak to people over the next few weeks about whether they’ve got a future here and what lies ahead, who’s coming in, who’s going out.
“My stance is, if an opportunity came about that was a great opportunity in the Premier League, then I would have to consider it.”
Allen, 29, has played in every Championship fixture this season, being involved in nine goals and would be an excellent addition to the Hammers squad.
His work on the ball and tenacity when not in possession is a great asset to have and he would provide brilliant cover for Noble and even push him to partner England international, Rice.
After Stoke’s disappointment in the second tier this season, Allen could be available for a lower fee and his admission could see him want to force a move should the right bid or club come in for him and Manuel Pellegrini should not hesitate in giving Allen the chance to play in the Premier League once again.
