West Ham United defender Sam Byram’s nightmare three-and-a-half-year stint at the club is likely to end this summer, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster claims that the Hammers are looking to offload a trio of players who have been out on loan this season, with Byram joined on that list by Edimilson Fernandes and Jordan Hugill.
The 25-year-old joined West Ham in January 2016 for £3.7million, as per The Independent, but has seen his time at the club ruined by injuries.
He has made just a handful of appearances on loan at Nottingham Forest this campaign, and Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to offload him to raise funds this summer.

There likely won’t be many West Ham supporters who are surprised by this news. Byram was brought in with a lot of excitement when he first signed from Leeds United. He was a hot prospect who had been excelling for the Yorkshire giants. However, his time in east London hasn’t gone the way anyone was expecting. His career has been decimated by injuries in recent times and that’s been the case yet again at Forest this term. He’s barely played and so any chance he had of making an impression on Pellegrini from afar has been taken from him. It’s a bit of a shame how it’s gone for Byram at West Ham, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. One thing’s for sure, the Hammers can’t afford to keep another injury-prone player around the place. They’ve had far too many injuries this season and so it would be too much of a risk to have Byram around the squad next campaign. Plus, Pellegrini clearly wants to raise funds so it does seem as if Byram will be cast aside this summer.
