OPINION

West Ham United come into this Saturday’s clash against Leicester City having suffered three defeats on the bounce.

Beating the Foxes is paramount to avoid a dismal run of four losses, especially after their cruel 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United last Saturday.

In order to have the best chance of beating Leicester, boss Manuel Pellegrini will have to make two changes to the side that lost, especially with the likes of Manuel Lanzini being ruled out with injury, as reported by Claret and Hugh.

In goal, Lukasz Fabianski must start as normal.

In the defence, it is safe to say that left-back Arthur Masuaku had the best game in a West Ham shirt for a very long time indeed. He replaced the injured Aaron Cresswell, but there is no way that he can be dropped after such an assured outing.

Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena were also excellent on Saturday, and Pablo Zabaleta surprised everyone at right-back by being able to deal with the likes of Anthony Martial.

Lanzini had been having a poor run of games for the Hammers recently, and Saturday was no exception – however, the fact that he sustained a groin injury may explain why he was poor that afternoon. Seeing as he is ruled out of the fixture, this means that speedster Grady Diangana – who has been on the fringes lately, having only played 16 games – must replace him.

Javier Hernandez did not make much of an impact against his former club, and even though it was not a terrible display, it was an ineffective one. The first teamer must be axed against Leicester in favour of Marko Arnautovic, who despite having a bad attitude problem, offers something different to the side with his physical presence.

If Pellegrini makes the right calls with his starting line up this weekend, then there is no doubt that they will be able to blitz their way past the Foxes with ease.
