As the season begins to conclude questions are beginning to be asked about who will be managing West Ham next season.

Although Manuel Pellegrini has done fairly well this season, it hasn’t stopped people from speculating what could happen should a change in management happen before the next season begins.

Adrian Durham has made a recent claim on talkSPORT that the current Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder could be a good fit for management at the London Stadium, after Darren Gough stated he wasn’t too sure about Pellegrini.

“Chris Wilder perhaps? Although it’s a good fit with Sheffield United,” suggested Durham on talkSPORT (17:44pm, Monday April 29th).

Although Wilder has shown that he has definite potential to be a brilliant football manager, he hasn’t exactly had the experience that is usually required to manage a Premier League football club.

Wilder has only recently achieved promotion to the Premier League, and will be managing for the first time in the top flight next season, assuming he is still the manager of the club.

Pellegrini has a history of managing at a top level, and even has a Premier League title to his name from his time managing Manchester City in the 2013/14 season.

It wouldn’t be the smartest of moves to ship out a head coach who has proven he is capable of managing in the Premier League, for someone who is effectively inexperienced in England’s top flight.

Wilder may be successful with Sheffield United next season, but it would be a risky gamble to take, and West Ham would arguably be in a safer position should they chose to stick with their current manager in Pellegrini.

Therefore the Hammers must avoid heeding Durham’s suggestion on this occasion.
