It seems as though after a summer of heavy spending in 2018 that West Ham are not done splashing the cash in their pursuit of success and glory.

There were some big name arrivals in east London ahead of the current campaign, none more so than Felipe Anderson, and while they are still pushing to be the best of the rest outside the Premier League’s top six the season has not gone entirely to plan.

Injuries have decimated the Hammers’ plans, with a number of long term absentees that they have been unable to call upon, but there have also been some players who have not lived up to expectation.

Claret and Hugh, the reliable West Ham news outlet, state that Manuel Pellegrini has already got a chopping block with a number of first team names lined up in a bid to raise some much needed funds ahead of the summer, with the Hammers hoping Michail Antonio, Arthur Masuaku, Lucas Perez and Pedro Obiang can bring in £30million.

However, there are a trio of names who should be added to that list, both because of their lack of value to the first team and the money they could not only bring in but save the club; Javier Hernandez, Aaron Cresswell and Winston Reid.

According to Spotrac, the Mexican hitman is on £140,000-a-week, the English full back £50,000-a-week and the New Zealand centre half £70,000-a-week – totalling an outlay of £260,000-a-week.

Quite frankly, none of the trio have earned their money this season – Hernandez massively overpaid considering his return in front of goal – and they are all players who the Irons could snap up upgrades for with the right money.

Cashing in on the trio would give Pellegrini more cash to work with in the summer and quite frankly those wages could be better used elsewhere – they should join the queue building behind the manager’s axe.
