West Ham attacker Andy Carroll should perhaps stay off social media for a bit, especially Twitter, as a large section of fans savagely annihilate him for his display against Birmingham City on Saturday. The Hammers may have defeated the Championship side 2-0 in the FA Cup in order to progress to the next round but a number of Hammers fans didn’t want the 29-year-old credited after the positive result, even though the forward popped up with a goal in the 91st minute. One fan recommended retirement as Carroll’s aggressive style of play was clearly not working anymore while another dubbed his display shocking as clearly they expected better. Even more harshly several called for Manuel Pellegrini to sanction the attacker’s sale in the near future with one even claiming that the player is surely destined to be gone either in January or the summer after watching Carroll’s latest display. The 29-year-old clearly isn’t loved by fans currently and given how he does look very rusty and not up to scratch as it stands, it’s easy to see why. It’s hard to imagine Carroll not being moved on by Pellegrini in the near future.
