OPINION
The question when Samir Nasri officially completed his move to West Ham United earlier this week was whether the Frenchman was still the same player who tore up the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City? While it is undoubtedly too earlier to posit an answer to that query, it was clear from very early on in the Hammers’ 2-0 win over Birmingham City on Saturday that he still has some of the same ability that took him to the top of the game a few years ago. The opposition was modest in a early round FA Cup tie, of course, but it was encouraging to see the 31-year-old look up for the game and in a creative mood. He was involved throughout the game, linking up with Marko Arnautovic (before his injury) and Grady Diangana to good effect. He was hungry for the ball and he wanted to make things happen and that’s really what West Ham fans wanted to see. If he can continue in this vein come Premier League football then he’ll be a very solid addition for the club.

I've got to admit- I'm pleasantly surprised by what I've seen out of this young Nasri fella in the first 16 minutes. #COYI

Nasri has been class so far. 97% pass accuracy apparently. Looked much better with Arnie up top to link with because Carroll can't do that.
