OPINION
Another game, another storming performance from West Ham star Declan Rice. Despite their embarrassing 3-o loss to Wolves on Wednesday night, Rice was on form yet again for the Hammers. The young midfielder is slowly becoming one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League, putting in solid displays week in, week out for the Hammers. It is amazing to think that Rice had never really played in midfield before this season, developing in the Irons academy as a centre-back before being deployed further forward by Manuel Pellegrini. His performances have even caught the eye of England boss Gareth Southgate, who is trying to convince the 19-year-old to switch his allegiance from the Republic of Ireland. West Ham fans certainly rate Rice highly, as evidenced by the rave reviews below, with such comments now becoming a weekly occurrence.

Thank god for Declan Rice. We would be behind without him.

The case for West Ham needing a box-to-box midfielder has never been stronger. We finally have the CDM we craved in Digger Decker Rice, now he needs a partner. Noble's head is willing, but his legs are no longer. Someone say Ruben Loftus Cheek on loan…PLEASE! #WHUFC #COYI ⚒️⚒️

If not for Fabianski we would be getting walloped 4-0. Him and Rice only to turn up today.
