Comedian and West Ham supporter Russell Brand declared his love for Felipe Anderson when asked how he thought his club were currently doing.

The 43-year-old appeared on Jim White’s show on talkSPORT and was asked how happy he was with the goings on at the London Stadium, with Brand replying that he was very excited about what he was seeing currently.

Brand stated that he loved Anderson as he is lighting the place up and that he was excited to see more of Javier Hernandez now that he was starting to play a notable part.

“I’m happy, I think so,” said Brand when asking how he felt about West Ham currently on talkSPORT (Tuesday, December 11, 12:10).

“I love Felipe Anderson, he is lighting the place up and I’m excited to see Hernandez, Chicharito, starting to land now so yeah I’m pretty excited.”

OPINION

What Hammers fan doesn’t love Anderson right now? The Brazilian winger may have taken a few games to settle into life in the Premier League but now he looks well and truly at home. Anderson has scored six goals, while registering two, in the 18 appearances he has made for the club and you feel that he is set to get more if he continues going about his business. The 25-year-old is an exciting player to watch and Brand is right to claim that the attacker is lighting the place up at the moment. West Ham would have raised a few eyebrows when they opted to spend £36million, which could rise to £41.5m (Source: BBC Sport), on getting the player from Lazio but it looks a shrewd bit of business now. Anderson is more than capable of being a focal point of Manuel Pellegrini’s side for many seasons to come and could be the player that helps the experienced boss oversee the club make significant progress.
