West Ham United defender Reece Oxford has caught the eye of Manchester United, Watford, Leicester City and Bournemouth, according to Claret and Hugh.

The reliable source of Hammers news reports on their website that the Premier League quartet have been watching the 20-year-old closely, with Man United holding had the longest-serving interest in the young ace.

It would cost the Red Devils £5million to take the prospect to Old Trafford alongside a wage packet worth £20,000-a-week, a figure that the other three clubs would not be put off by.

OPINION

While Oxford has not been able to show his potential this season with the first team, the fact that he has received so much attention must be very flattering for a player of his age. There is no denying that he has the potential to do well – however, that is not with West Ham. One thing must be noted though, and that is assurances of regular football at Old Trafford. Big clubs like United are not famed for giving talent like Oxford many games, so the club must seek reassurances over this before any potential deal is spoken about. He is better off moving to one of the other three clubs mentioned, as they are more likely to offer him regular minutes. Ultimately, this is what he wants – sitting on the bench is not what he wants. Oxford looks certain to be on the move in the January transfer window, but it remains to be seen what club that could actually be.
