Saturday’s first half against Fulham was another fine example of what a massive bargain West Ham United got with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski this summer, and the reaction of the Hammers’ supporters is totally understandable. The Poland international has been phenomenal so far this season, arguably the best shot-stopper outside of the top six, and he proved that once again against the Cottagers. He was called into action inside the opening ten minutes on Saturday, but kept his cool to produce a fine save from Aboubakar Kamara. The Fulham man tried to beat the former Swansea City star at the near post, but Fabianski was having none of it. He palmed Kamara’s effort away, and that moment summed up the impact the ‘keeper has had in East London this term. The 33-year-old has been one of Manuel Pellegrini’s best players this campaign and Saturday was another example of that.
