West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic was not the source of rumours about his potential exit from the club, according to exWHUemployee.
The insider – who is a reliable source of news on the Hammers – revealed on the podcast ‘The West Ham Way‘ that the Irons ever-present did not have a single clue that this story was going to break, and that it originated from his agent’s worrying quotes which hinted at a move away.
His agent – who is also his brother – wants the forward to complete a move that would reward him for being in such good form for West Ham recently, which has seen him star as the side’s main talisman.
“His bother, who is his agent, said that he is looking to get CL football. I knew this story was going to break and I asked around and did some research. His agent, his brother, has been described as a pest. His brother is always trying to get him a better deal, he called Man United in the summer,” said ExWHUemployee.
“He said he backed his brother as he didn’t want to say he was talking rubbish out of loyalty. He said he trusts his brother. It’s good for West Ham as he didn’t initiate these rumours.”

West Ham fans were no doubt sweating after the original story broke about him supposedly wanting to leave the club, and they had good reason to. He has been acting as the Hammers’ main talisman for a while now, and it is safe to say that they would lack a threat up front if he were to leave. However, this revelation will be music to their ears, especially the fact that the exit rumours did not originate from Arnautovic himself. It looks like West Ham will be holding onto him for a bit longer by the sounds of it, but they will certainly be prepared if any of the Premier League top-six come in with a bid for his services. Yes, he does deserve a move to one of the top-flight giants, but at the age of 29, he needs to consider whether he would be getting the game time that he obviously desires.
