West Ham must snatch Alberto Moreno from Liverpool as the 26-year-old could solve Manuel Pellegrini’s conundrum regarding the position of left-back.

The left-sided Liverpool flyer is facing an exit from Anfield, according to Goal, as his club are even prepared to let him go on a free transfer at the end of the current season when his £40,000-a-week contract (Source: Spotrac) expires.

While some maybe dubious of Moreno’s talents it’s worth bearing in mind that when he has performed well for Jurgen Klopp’s team, previous high-profile mistakes have been brought up once against, despite being a thing of the past.

The 26-year-old at the start of last season was in promising form for the Reds, keeping Andy Robertson out of the team, but was cruelly then sidelined with an injury and lost his spot as a result.

Moreno played all but two of the Reds’ opening 12 Premier League fixtures and had fans believing that he had turned a corner and had found his feet in England’s top division.

However due to the rise of Robertson and only being unleashed on rare occasions, it seems Moreno is now being remembered for his past disappointing performances rather than the fact he looked a useful Premier League player last season.

The Reds full-back has shown sides that he can be a capable defender as well as a threat going forward due to his pace and ability to unleash powerful shots that have goalkeepers scrambling.

Given that Pellegrini’s current left-back options Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell don’t look like being able to be defensively component for their side, causing the Hammers to look weak on their left-flank, signing Moreno could solve the manager’s problems.

Moreno has previously proven, especially when on a confidence building run, that he can be a solid presence at left-back as well as a handful for his opponents.

Also the 26-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience having played 88 times in the division so would be able to settle in quickly at the London Stadium.

Therefore given that Liverpool are willing to let Moreno go for free then the Hammers must either snatch him on a cut-price deal in January or snap him up for free in the summer as he is more than capable of solving Pellegrini’s conundrum regarding the position of left-back.
