West Ham must take full advantage of the reported set-back that FC Porto have suffered in order to grab themselves a fantastic bargain by ensuring they snap up Yacine Brahimi’s services.
The Portuguese giants, who have four points from their opening two Champions League match this season, have not been able to tie down their dazzling winger to a knew deal to ensure that he doesn’t leave for free at the end of the season.
A BOLA reported that despite attempts Porto have been unable to come to an understanding about renewing his contract and that the most likely scenario is that he will leave the club without them even receiving compensation for the loss.
This is a set-back for the Champions League club as Brahimi has continued to impress for them this season by scoring three goals, while creating one, in his opening eleven outings.
However Porto’s loss should see the Hammers use this update on the player’s situation as catalyst to start laying the ground work to ensure he arrives at the London Stadium for the bargain price of absolutely nothing in the summer.
The 28-year-old dazzler, who can play on either flank as well as an attacking midfielder, would be able to excel at the Hammers due to his tricky feet, creative vision and eye for goal.
Usually a player of Brahimi’s calibre and experience would cost a mouthwatering sum, however it seems that he will be a dazzling bargain if events continue to unfold in the same way.
Sky Sports previously reported in the summer that the Hammers ended their pursuit of the winger after failing to agree personal terms but with plenty of time to get their house in order, then it will be a different story this time around.
Therefore the Hammers must take full advantage of this disappointing turn of events for Porto as soon as they can as Brahimi would be a fantastic acquisition.
