West Ham have reportedly enquired about the availability of Roma winger Stephan El Shaarawy and his arrival would see the London Stadium erupt with cheers.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, who writes for Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Hammers had been ‘probing the ground’ about the 26-year-old’s status with him currently in contract talks with his club.

The trusted reporter shared the news, via their personal Twitter account, and was quick to point out that El Shaarawy was only interested in playing for Roma as it stood, which implies he’ll agree to new deal shortly.
However if the Hammers are somehow able to successfully sign the skilful winger by changing him and his club’s mind, then it would get pulses racing at the London Stadium.
The 26-year-old has silky skills and is an attacking threat for his side who is capable of carving out chances or scoring if needs to be.
This is shown by the fact that in his eight appearances this season, he has been involved in four goals already as he has scored three while creating one.
Aside from his potential goal and assists being well received by Hammers fans, El Shaarawy’s bag of tricks would be very well received by supporters as they are known to love a player of that nature who plays attractive football.
The silky-skilled trickster may not have fulfilled the potential he was once perceived to have but it’s clear he’d be able to take the Premier League by storm if in Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Therefore while there’s only a tiny chance the Hammers will get El Shaarawy, if they did manage it then the London Stadium would go wild over getting to witness such an exciting talent play every week.
