Many West Ham supporters on social media slammed Andriy Yarmolenko for his display during the 1-0 defeat to Brighton.
The Ukrainian winger only played 70 minutes of the Hammers’ latest outing before being replaced by Lucas Perez during the game and a large section of fans expressed their disappointment in him.
One Hammers fan tweeted that they were worried about how he didn’t seem to work hard enough when not in possession, while another implied that the winger needed to pull his finger our during the match.

After skilfully forcing his way into the hearts of Hammers supporters in recent weeks, Yarmolenko quickly found a way to anger them. As this section of fans pointed out, it wasn’t just the fact he looked poor against Brighton it’s the fact he looked like he was ‘t putting in 100% effort. Whether he is one of those players who just looks like they’re breaking sweat when they actually are is debatable. However the winger didn’t look up for the fight on Friday and it was concerning. Hopefully Yarmolenko’s latest display was just a blip for him and he will soon be firing on all cylinders again after the international break. Yarmolenko came from the last international break raring to go so hopefully lightning will strike twice. Although the winger can’t afford to be an inconsistent force at the club as fans deserve more and will let their feelings be known if he doesn’t deliver.
