West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere has a very impressive dribbling success rate this season and it simply hides the fact that his end product in his outings hasn’t been up to scratch.

WhoScored.com shared via their official Twitter that the 5ft 6in tall central midfielder (Source: Transfermarkt) had the best dribble success rate, out of the players who have attempted 10 or more dribbles, than any player across Europe’s top five league.

This statistic is very flattering as if you hadn’t seen Wilshere perform for the Hammers this season then you may be tricked into thinking he had taken to life at the London Stadium like a duck to water.

However he simply hasn’t and he has struggled to make a positive impressive for Manuel Pellegrini’s side in his four outings despite his best efforts.

Even though Wilshere was drooled over during his time at Arsenal for his passing ability, he has always struggled with his end product.

The 26-year-old’s failure to make the most of his ability to hold onto the ball and glide past opponents is shown by his assist as well as goal return during his time in the Premier League.

Wilshere has made a total of 170 appearances in England’s top-division, with the majority of his appearances being for The Gunners, and only has eight goals as well as 20 assists to show from his outings.

When you consider that he was playing for one of the top-teams in the Premier League for a lot of his displays, it’s a shockingly woeful return for a player who clearly has the ability to do more.

Hammers fans would love to praise Wilshere for his dribbling stats this season but they simply can’t as he has failed to use the ball to his side’s best advantage.

Therefore this all means that this latest stat flatters the midfield maestro and helps him mask the biggest flaw in his game, which is his inability to deliver the goods by producing a goal or an assist after he has created space after dribbling past his opponents.
