Some West Ham fans took to social media in order to urge Manuel Pellegrini to start utilising Portuguese attacker Xande Silva in his first-team.

The 21-year-old winger joined the Hammers in the summer and has lit up the Premier League 2 so far by scoring five goals in four appearances.

The in-form Silva for his recent displays was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award (Source: official club website) and this had a section of Hammers supporters demanding he feature in the first-team shortly.

One fan claimed that the 21-year-old was better than Javier Hernandez while others debated whether he should feature on the bench or go straight in the team.

OPINION

Silva has taken to life in England like a duck to water and looks capable of being a potential star for the Hammers. With the first-team struggling to provide supporters with any form of joy than it’s no surprise that fans have jumped at an opportunity to urge the club to play someone currently firing on all cylinders. While a few fans suggest that Pellegrini start Silva that may be a little too much for the promising talent to handle, however he should at least get a sit on the bench in the near future. As one supporter rightly opted to directly tweet Pellegrini if a player is good enough than they’re old enough to feature. Given that the Hammers have an EFL Cup game against Macclesfield Town in the near future, that fixture may prove the perfect opportunity to reward Silva for his fine form by unleashing him into the first-team set-up.
