West Ham will reject all bids for midfielder Pedro Obiang in the winter window as he is now firmly back in the first-team set-up, according to Claret & Hugh.

The reliable Hammers website shared that the 26-year-old, who earns £55,000-a-week at the London Stadium (Source: Spotrac), is back in the first-team frame after impressing Manuel Pellegrini was his attitude in training as well as his performance against Everton at the weekend.

Claret & Hugh report that even though the likes of Fiorentina and Sampdoria continue to track the player, the Hammers won’t entertain offers and that the midfielder is due to be told his future is at the London club.

OPINION

This is fantastic news as Obiang must be held onto at all costs especially after demonstrating his worth during the 3-1 victory over the Toffees at Goodison Park. Ahead of the game against the Merseyside club, the Hammers looked like their midfield was in crisis as it didn’t look like Pellegrini could find the correct combination to play. However after adding Declan Rice and Obiang into his midfield for the latest clash, all looked right with the team. The 26-year-old may have come dangerously close to exiting the London Stadium in the summer, Calciomercato reported a deal in principal had been agreed with Sampdoria about his sale, but that’s all in the past now. Obiang is contracted to stay until 2022 so the Hammers should have no probably staying strong with their stance to keep him as they hold all the cards as it stands. The only way that changes is if Obiang tries to force through a move but given how hard he worked for the side on Sunday, that doesn’t seem likely.
