Former Premier League winner Robert Huth has praised West Ham United talisman Marko Arnautovic for his performance against Manchester United on Saturday.
The 6ft 3in Austrian [Source: Transfermarkt] scored the third goal in the Hammers’ 3-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s men, and Huth was impressed by his former Stoke City teammate’s efforts.
“Since [David] Moyes put him up front he’s having to do a lot less work defensively and just getting all his efforts going the other way,” he told Goals on Sunday.

“Like I said he’s good with the ball at his feet, he can spin in behind you, he’s stronger than most defenders so, yeah, he’s going to have a good season I think.”
OPINION
Huth is absolutely spot on. Moyes’s decision to move Arnautovic to the centre forward position has proved a masterstroke. It’s easy to forget that the Austrian struggled under Slaven Bilic during his first couple of months at the club, but since Moyes replaced the Croatian it has been a different story for the 29-year-old. He’s become one of the most in form attackers in theĀ entire Premier League this season, and looks a class above every time he steps on the pitch. He was one of the biggest difference makers against United at the London Stadium, and got his just rewards with a smart finish beyond David De Gea in the second half to restore the Hammers’ two goal lead. Like Huth says, Arnautovic is a big, strong boy so it’s a constant battle for defenders to win the ball off him. He’s become so crucial to this West Ham team and his influence was evidenced again on Saturday.
