West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic was spotted reacting in the stands with shock as Andriy Yarmolenko spurned a header in the second half against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Hammers played out a 0-0 draw with the Blues this weekend, but there was one moment in the match that got the Austrian forward on his feet as he watched on from the stands at the London Stadium.

Robert Snodgrass picked Yarmolenko out at the far post, but he was unable to convert the opportunity – and Arnautovic was pictured on Sky Sports responding with disbelief in the 78th minute at the horror miss, and what could have been the Irons’ best chance of the game.

OPINION

Yarmolenko had the best chance of the game, and there is no doubt that the Hammers could have gone on to secure all three points on Sunday if he had converted it. He will undoubtedly feel responsibility for the fact that West Ham only managed to earn a point against the Blues, and that has only been reinforced by Arnautovic’s reaction from his seat in the stands. He would have been gutted to have missed out on such a big game for the Irons, and that frustration would have been further enhanced with his reaction to Yarmolenko’s miss. Obviously, he felt like he wanted to be out there to help his team – but a point is still a point, and it means that they now have four to their name in the Premier League. Many fans would have shared the same response to the miss as Arnautovic did – but at least they did not surrender in the last minute like they did against Wolves.
