Some West Ham fans on social media reacted to the idea that their club were set to battle for the chance to take Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater on loan.
The Daily Mirror reported that the Hammers and Everton were both keen on signing the 28-year-old as the Blues were looking to loan him out.
The British newspaper claimed that Chelsea wanted to get rid of Drinkwater despite only signing him last summer as he is way down the pecking order at the club under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Several Hammers supporters claimed that they would love the defensive-minded midfielder at the London Stadium while others were completely against the idea.
Forever West Ham has rounded up a section of tweets by supporters of the London club over potentially signing Drinkwater:

Id love Drinkwater, however my concern is if we were to get him, it would certainly mean Rice would get hardly any game time….

OPINION
It’s no surprise that the Hammers continue to be linked with a move for the clearly available Drinkwater as they need a midfield enforcer brought to the club before the window shuts. The 28-year-old, who currently earns £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) at Stamford Bridge, would clearly be a wise signing as he has tons of Premier League experience and is on course to leave the Blues shortly. While some Hammers fans don’t want a player who could be deemed as a Chelsea flop, a few urge the club to sign him ahead of Carlos Sanchez. The Mirror previously reported that the Hammers were looking to the Fiorentina midfielder as they continued to search for a player that would strengthen their defensive qualities in the centre of the pitch.
