West Ham may have an array of attacking talent after signing the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko – but they need to add one more before the conclusion of the transfer window.

The player that boss Manuel Pellegrini must consider is Leicester City attacker Demarai Gray.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, La Liga side Valencia are hoping to strike a deal with the Foxes to land the 22-year-old attacking flyer, and they have even sent their chief negotiator out in the hope of finalising a deal.

However, West Ham must ignore this hunt and raid their league rivals for the young winger themselves in order to unleash the talent of striker Javier Hernandez, who has not had the most prolific seasons of late.

He needs a speedy creative-minded player to provide the service he desperately needs to recapture his form again, form which he demonstrated during his stint at Manchester United where he had the ability to strike fear into opponents’ defences with his lethal eye for goal.

Gray is an integral figure in the Leicester team, making 44 appearances for them in all competitions last season – but he must make a move to West Ham to maximise his potential and push for a place in Europe.

He may not have vast experience in the Premier League – he only signed for the former champions two years ago – but he obviously has something in his repertoire that has attracted a top team like Valencia.

Hernandez is definitely capable of much more than he mustered up last season, and the addition of Gray is just what he needs to increase his confidence once again and fire the Hammers up the table.

Gray’s four goals for Leicester may not appear like much, but he is more than able to ensure the assists are getting into the box for the Mexican to put them away.

The Irons need to hijack Valencia’s swoop for Gray and snatch him from right under their noses.
