West Ham United are willing to offload striker Jordan Hugill on a permanent basis as deadline day approaches, according to insider ExWHUemployee.

The club insider – who is a reliable source of news on the Hammers – has claimed in a Twitter conversation this morning that the Irons are keen to bin their rarely-seen forward on a permanent basis rather than just on loan.

When asked by a fan whether Queen’s Park Rangers were still interested in Hugill, he revealed that “a number of Championship clubs” want to take him on just seven months after the Irons snapped him up from Preston North End for £10 million.

OPINION

West Ham are wise in wanting to offload Hugill on a permanent basis rather than just on loan. They have no interest in utilising him in the first team squad any time soon, so it would not make sense for him to return from his loan spell next year. If he did, then they may face an even tougher struggle to get rid of him, as there is no guarantee that he would impress the club he may end up at. The Hammers need to complete their business quickly in regards to Hugill or face him staying put at the London Stadium. It was a surprise when they signed him from Preston North End in the last transfer window, as since then he has been rarely used by whoever has been charge. They will now have their fingers crossed that a move is on the cards in the next 24 hours, and Hugill will undoubtedly want a move away as well to get some regular first-team football again.
