West Ham’s Director of Football Mario Husillos has revealed why the club signed Lucas Perez this summer.
The club confirmed that the has Spanish striker completed his move to the London Stadium via their official Twitter account.

The former Deportivo La Coruna striker signs from Arsenal on a three-year contract as Manuel Pellegrini increases his attacking options.
The Hammer’s transfer guru Mario Husillos has revealed the reasons behind the club’s move for Perez this summer.
“We welcome Lucas to West Ham United,” Husillos told the official West Ham website.
“He is a very experienced player that Manuel and I both know well from Spain.
“He has great technical quality, and can play as both the main striker or the second striker in a deeper role. He scores goals, but can also create them and link well with the midfielders.
“His style is different from the other strikers we have available to us, and that gives the manager more options for our attacking play.
“Lucas also has experience of the Premier League with Arsenal, and is familiar with life here in London, which of course means that he will take less time to adapt and be ready.
“From the very first meeting I had with Lucas, he made it very clear that he wanted to come to West Ham United and, for us, this is very important. We wish him every success during his time here.”

This is a great signing by West Ham United. They’ve pulled off some great purchases this summer but this could be the one they needed the most. For all the flair, pace and attacking intent that the new signings will bring, the Hammers were missing someone to put the ball in the back of the net and Lucas Perez will definitely be capable of doing that. This was a player who arrived in England off the back of a fantastic season in Spain, but he wasn’t given much of a chance at the Gunners for one reason or an0ther, even though he performed well in the few times he did appear. Their loss in now Manuel Pellegrini’s gain, he can get the best out of the Spanish striker, if the Chilean can revive the form he showed in Spain, the club will be on for a fantastic campaign in the upcoming Premier League season.
