West Ham have been given a boost ahead of their game on Sunday as Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been ruled out by manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Hammers take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in what is their opening Premier League fixture of the season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will most likely field a number of their new signings, with Jack Wilshere, Felipe Anderson, Lucas Perez and Andriy Yarmolenko set to make their competitive debuts.

However, they’ve also been given a boost as the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Dejan Lovren, a regular in the starting XI for the Reds, will be missing on Sunday.

“Dejan is unavailable for the weekend,’ Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.
