West Ham, Newcastle United, Fulham and Tottenham are interested in signing Nice forward Alassane Plea, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claim that the four Premier League sides are all on the hunt for the services of the 25-year-old forward who ended his 2017/18 campaign having scored 21 goals in 49 appearances for his club.

Sky Sports report that Nice want 30million euros (£26.6million) for their attacker’s services if they are to part company with him.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

The centre-forward would be welcomed with open arms at the London Stadium as he would rack up the goals for the Hammers due to his lethal finishing ability.

While £26.6million may appear to be a large amount to spend on a player the Hammers shouldn’t hesitate to blow their budget on welcoming Plea to the club as he will help them achieve success sooner rather than later.

If anything Nice should perhaps value their forward higher as there will be a club willing to pay more for him.

Plea’s dribbling ability and sublime passes should see him instantly improve the attacking threat of Manuel Pellegrini’s side if welcomed and the Hammers must ensure they win the Premier League hunt for his services.

Likely to happen?

The Hammers have tough competition for his services especially in the form of Tottenham who will be able to offer him European football.

However with a noteworthy boss Pellegrini at the helm perhaps the club can sell their long-term vision to Plea in order to convince him that his future should be at the London Stadium.

The Hammers should have an advantage over Fulham and Newcastle United when it comes to getting his signature as one is a Premier League new boy and the other appears to be reluctant to spend big-money to get signings over the line.

Although as no club including the Hammers are yet to submit a bid for Plea it impossible to say that this deal will happen this summer.
