Some West Ham fans on social media gushed about Andriy Yarmolenko arriving at the club after the Hammers officially confirmed that they had signed him.
The Hammers’ official website released a short statement in order to reveal that the 28-year-old winger had joined the club from Borussia Dortmund and had signed a four-year contract.
This news promoted a handful of Hammers supporters to heap praise on the player and their club with one fan claiming that they were now actually winning the league as Yarmolenko had arrived.

OPINION
A section of West Ham fans clearly are now dreaming of their chances of success in the Premier League next season and who can blame them as their club continue to welcome exciting talents to the London Stadium in this window. Yarmolenko has clearly inspired fans into believing that good times are afoot with him in their squad and hopefully he proves them right. The winger who stands at 6ft 2in tall (Transfermarkt) could be a fantastic attacking threat if he is able to replicate the form he showed at Dynamo Kiev. Yarmolenko scored 99 goals, while creating 65 in the 227 appearances he made in Ukraine’s top-flight before departing to join Borussia Dortmund in 2017. However he struggled for form at the German club and only ended his debut season having scored three goals in 18 league appearances.
