West Ham are willing to sell young midfielder Domingos Quina for a fee of £600,000 with Barcelona now in the hunt, according to Sky Sports.

The sports broadcaster reports on their website that the Hammers are keen to offload the 5″7 (source: Transfermarkt) central midfielder, with Barca the latest club to enquire after him following approaches from Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim.

The 18-year-old has been tracked by scouts from the La Liga giants, and netted an impressive goal for Portugal against Italy in the European under-19 Championships last week.

Quina is in the last year of his current contract at the London Stadium, and the Irons are happy to sell him for a cheap fee.

OPINION

Domingos Quina is better off leaving the East London club for Europe, as he is not likely to be getting much game time under boss Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham. The Chilean already has visions of what should happen with the club, and they do not include the under-19 Portugal international. He may have scored an outstanding goal for his country, but this has proven to no avail – however, the interested parties will have seen this and would have undoubtedly been impressed. He is still developing as a player at the age of 18, and he will only get better and better playing in Europe. If he joins Barcelona, there is no doubt they will guide him to the senior squad eventually if he progresses in the way he needs to, and there might be the possibility of the Hammers regretting their decision to sell him in few years’ time.
