The agent brother of Marko Arnautovic has been spotted at Inter Milan’s headquarters holding talks about selling West Ham’s star man, according to a Sky Sports journalist.

Sky Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio reported on his personal website last night (Wednesday) that Daniel Arnautovic offered the forward to the Serie A giants ahead of a possible summer transfer.

Di Marzio reported that the meeting took place at Inter’s headquarters yesterday and that “the deal would only take place under certain conditions”.

OPINION

This is the picture and the story that West Ham fans have been desperate not to see and read. Arnautovic emerged as the team’s most valuable asset after putting a wretched start to his Irons career behind him following his £20million-plus move from Stoke City last summer to deliver some outstanding performances in the second half of his debut campaign. He scored 11 league goals between December and May, as well as eight assists in all competitions, as he he thrived in a new central spearhead role under ex-boss David Moyes. The ex-Twente ace, who played three matches on loan for Inter earlier in his career, is one player Manuel Pellegrini will hope to build his team around next season, knowing that quick and powerful goalscorers capable of scaring defenders to death do not grow on trees. There will be huge concern among Hammers that Arnautovic’s brother and agent is plotting to sell him to a club with the cash to afford him.
